Most products nowadays seem to be advert and microtransaction piñatas.
It seemed that only 10 years ago games were designed primarily 'to make a great game' with the profit (whilst essential) coming second. Now the overwhelming majority only develop about 30% of the content they used to and plan on releasing the rest as dlc and boxes that you have to pay to unlock.
The first tranche of apps were all amazingly useful, but now the overwhelming majority are just tired copies of other apps, with even basic content hidden as 'in-app purchases'.
It seems that whenever content stops being made by the savvy inventors who want to make things for the sake of it, and start being made by companies who just want profit, it all turns to shit.
We are ready for the next paradigm, can someone please come up with one!
